Animal status: farm glossary

Animal status is the animal’s recorded life-cycle state. In HerdMobile, the states include active, sold, dead, slaughtered and lost. A status identifies that part of the animal’s current record, while a dated event explains the change. Health observations and archive information provide other details alongside the life-cycle status.

A farm example

When an animal is sold, its sale and date explain why its status changed. Earlier birth, care and production entries remain part of the animal’s history for later reference.

Everyday use

HerdMobile keeps status with the animal information. Opening the card and its history helps the farmer understand the recorded state and which animals belong in the group being examined.

How HerdMobile helps

Bring your animals, feed stocks and farm accounts together on your Android phone. HerdMobile keeps your daily work moving offline: record events, compare feed quantities and follow sales and payments in one place. Use your own feeds and herd information to prepare a ration, then keep a backup file under your control.
