Backup: farm glossary
A backup is a saved copy of farm records kept for later restoration. It provides the records in a file the farmer can store separately from the working phone. The file date identifies the copy, and a protected backup keeps the PIN used when that file was created. Restoring replaces the current device records with the records in the selected backup.
A farm example
When switching phones, you need the saved backup file—and its original PIN, if protected—to move your records across. Keeping an up-to-date copy off the phone ensures your farm history can be restored if the device is lost or replaced.
Everyday use
HerdMobile exports and restores backup files for local records. The farmer chooses when to create and where to store the copy as part of the daily record routine.
How HerdMobile helps
Bring your animals, feed stocks and farm accounts together on your Android phone. HerdMobile keeps your daily work moving offline: record events, compare feed quantities and follow sales and payments in one place. Use your own feeds and herd information to prepare a ration, then keep a backup file under your control.
