Cash flow: farm glossary

Cash flow describes money moving into and out of the farm over time. It follows when payments arrive and when money is paid, which helps show the funds available for upcoming work. Sales, purchases and their payment dates can occur at different times. Cash-flow records connect these dated movements rather than treating every sale as money already received.

A farm example

A milk sale may be recorded before its payment arrives. A feed payment made today uses money today, even if delivery was earlier. Comparing these dates shows the payment order and the money needed before the milk payment arrives.

Everyday use

HerdMobile brings dated income, expenses and payments together. These records help the farmer follow collections and payments alongside daily purchases on the phone.

How HerdMobile helps

Bring your animals, feed stocks and farm accounts together on your Android phone. HerdMobile keeps your daily work moving offline: record events, compare feed quantities and follow sales and payments in one place. Use your own feeds and herd information to prepare a ration, then keep a backup file under your control.
