Expense record: farm glossary

An expense record describes a cost or outgoing entered in the farm account. The category, amount and date explain what was bought or paid for. Feed purchases and other farm costs can therefore be followed separately. For a purchase paid later, the purchase cost and payment date are separate entries that show the debt and the money paid.

A farm example

A feed purchase records the product and its cost. The payment entry describes the money paid to the supplier, while feed-stock movements describe the quantity entering or leaving storage.

Everyday use

HerdMobile keeps farm expenses alongside income and payments. These records help bring daily feed spending and the wider farm account into the same view.
