Invoice: farm glossary

An invoice is a document identifying the goods or services charged for and their amount. It commonly describes the supplier, product, quantity, price and transaction date. These details explain the purchase or sale value. The payment history describes the money settled against that value, so the invoice and the payments have separate roles in the farm account.

A farm example

For a feed delivery, invoice quantities and prices describe what was charged. The delivered feed enters stock, while the related payment shows the money paid to the supplier.

Everyday use

HerdMobile brings purchase costs, payments and feed-stock movements into daily farm records. The invoice details help identify the amount and product behind those entries.
