Pasture: farm glossary
Pasture is land used for grazing and the forage growing on it. The amount and quality of available forage change with plant growth, weather and grazing. Pasture therefore describes both a place and a feed resource for the animals using it. Its condition is part of the farm’s daily feeding picture alongside stored forage and drinking water.

A farm example
A group grazing a paddock uses the forage available there. A dated note about grass cover and water access describes that group’s conditions at the time of the observation.
Everyday use
HerdMobile keeps the animal group and dated farm notes together. Feed-stock and ration records describe the stored feeds used alongside grazing in the daily plan.
How HerdMobile helps
Bring your animals, feed stocks and farm accounts together on your Android phone. HerdMobile keeps your daily work moving offline: record events, compare feed quantities and follow sales and payments in one place. Use your own feeds and herd information to prepare a ration, then keep a backup file under your control.
