Concentrate: farm glossary
Concentrate is a feed group containing nutrient-dense ingredients and compound feeds used alongside roughage. Cereal grains, oilseed meals and many commercial feeds belong to this group. Their roles differ: one product may supply more energy, while another contributes more protein. HerdMobile lists each selected concentrate with its own nutrient values so each ingredient’s contribution is visible.

A farm example
A dairy compound feed and an oilseed meal can both be concentrates. The compound product contains a mixture of ingredients; the meal has its own composition and contribution to the ration.
Everyday use
The animal species and product directions identify the intended use. HerdMobile combines concentrate quantities with roughages and supplements when calculating daily feed amounts and cost.
How HerdMobile helps
Bring your animals, feed stocks and farm accounts together on your Android phone. HerdMobile keeps your daily work moving offline: record events, compare feed quantities and follow sales and payments in one place. Use your own feeds and herd information to prepare a ration, then keep a backup file under your control.
