Phosphorus: farm glossary
Phosphorus is a mineral element represented by P in feed-composition tables. A percentage of phosphorus describes the element’s share on the stated basis, often dry matter. The amount supplied in a daily ration depends on how much of each feed is used. Phosphorus and calcium are separate nutrient figures even when they occur in the same mineral product.

A farm example
A compound feed and a mineral ingredient can both supply phosphorus. Their label values and amounts contribute to the total, with each ingredient’s phosphorus calculated on the same weight basis.
Everyday use
HerdMobile includes feed phosphorus values alongside other nutrients in the ration calculation. This allows the contribution of selected feeds to be read together with their daily quantities.
How HerdMobile helps
Bring your animals, feed stocks and farm accounts together on your Android phone. HerdMobile keeps your daily work moving offline: record events, compare feed quantities and follow sales and payments in one place. Use your own feeds and herd information to prepare a ration, then keep a backup file under your control.
