Payment receipt: farm glossary
A payment receipt is a document acknowledging money received for a transaction. Its amount and date describe the payment it records. It can relate to a whole payment or to one instalment of a larger sale or purchase. The transaction total and the receipt amount therefore describe different parts of the same payment history.
A farm example
A buyer making a partial payment can receive a receipt for that amount. The remaining balance is found by comparing all recorded payments with the original transaction total.
Everyday use
In HerdMobile, dated payment entries help follow the money received or paid. Receipt details support the entry and help identify which collection or payment it describes.
