Record creation date: farm glossary

Record creation date is when an entry was first saved. It describes the recording work, while an event date describes when the farm event occurred. Both can belong to the same history. This distinction is useful when a busy worker enters the previous day’s observations after the immediate animal care has been completed.

A farm example

A note created today can describe yesterday’s birth or feeding observation. The creation date identifies today’s entry; the recorded event date identifies the earlier occurrence being described in that note.

Everyday use

HerdMobile retains creation information and can keep a separate occurrence date for relevant events. The dates help place a later entry alongside the animal’s earlier observations.

How HerdMobile helps

Bring your animals, feed stocks and farm accounts together on your Android phone. HerdMobile keeps your daily work moving offline: record events, compare feed quantities and follow sales and payments in one place. Use your own feeds and herd information to prepare a ration, then keep a backup file under your control.
