Stock movement: farm glossary
A stock movement is a recorded change in the quantity of an item held in store. For feed, it can describe a delivery, consumption, loss or stock correction. The direction and amount explain how the recorded balance changes. The date places that change within the feed’s history alongside other purchases and uses.
A farm example
A purchase adds feed, while a feeding entry describes feed taken from stock. A recorded loss explains another reduction, allowing the farmer to distinguish feeding from material lost in storage or handling.
Everyday use
HerdMobile keeps dated feed movements so the farmer can follow the stock balance. Comparing those entries with the feed in the barn helps prepare the next ration and purchase.
How HerdMobile helps
Bring your animals, feed stocks and farm accounts together on your Android phone. HerdMobile keeps your daily work moving offline: record events, compare feed quantities and follow sales and payments in one place. Use your own feeds and herd information to prepare a ration, then keep a backup file under your control.
