Weighing date: farm glossary
Weighing date is the date an animal’s weight was observed. It places that measurement within the animal’s growth history. Two weighing dates define the time between two weights, which is used when calculating average daily gain. The date the note was entered describes the recording work and can be later than the weighing itself.
A farm example
A calf weighed on 1 May and again on 31 May has a 30-day interval between weighings, even if the farmer types the second note into the phone on 2 June.
Everyday use
HerdMobile animal notes can keep weighing dates and weights with the animal’s history. These figures help the farmer compare growth observations with feeding and care from the same period.
How HerdMobile helps
Bring your animals, feed stocks and farm accounts together on your Android phone. HerdMobile keeps your daily work moving offline: record events, compare feed quantities and follow sales and payments in one place. Use your own feeds and herd information to prepare a ration, then keep a backup file under your control.
