Total amount: farm glossary

Total amount is the full value recorded for a sale, purchase or other farm transaction. It can come from a quantity multiplied by a unit price, with any agreed additions included. The total describes the whole transaction. Payments describe how much of that amount has already been settled and how much remains.

A farm example

For a feed delivery, the total can include the feed value and an agreed delivery charge. The invoice or purchase note identifies which items make up the amount.

Everyday use

HerdMobile keeps the transaction total alongside payments in the farm account. The farmer can follow the original value, money received or paid, and the open balance together.
