Sex: farm glossary

Sex is the animal’s recorded male or female classification, kept alongside species, breed and production information. It helps describe the animals included in a herd or group. A sex entry and a production-stage entry have separate meanings, while both help the farmer identify the animal and the work relevant to its life stage.

A farm example

Two cattle in the same herd can have different sex and production details. Their cards show those details together with age, group and dated events so each animal’s history can be followed.

Everyday use

HerdMobile brings these animal details together in the card. The farmer can open the animal’s information when planning care, grouping animals or preparing the inputs for a ration.

How HerdMobile helps

Bring your animals, feed stocks and farm accounts together on your Android phone. HerdMobile keeps your daily work moving offline: record events, compare feed quantities and follow sales and payments in one place. Use your own feeds and herd information to prepare a ration, then keep a backup file under your control.
