Feed cost per head per day: farm glossary
Feed cost per head per day is the feed spending attributed to one animal for one day. A group’s daily feed cost is divided by the number of animals fed in that group. The amount describes that group and day. It makes costs easier to compare when herd sizes differ, provided the same feeds and cost items are included.
A farm example
The whole group’s feed bill and the per-animal figure describe the same feeding activity at different scales. A change in animal count can change the per-head result even when the group total stays similar.
Everyday use
HerdMobile shows daily ration cost using the selected feed amounts and prices. This connects the feeding plan with a practical per-animal spending figure.
How HerdMobile helps
Bring your animals, feed stocks and farm accounts together on your Android phone. HerdMobile keeps your daily work moving offline: record events, compare feed quantities and follow sales and payments in one place. Use your own feeds and herd information to prepare a ration, then keep a backup file under your control.
