Assign a ration copy to an individual animal

Use Select ration on the animal’s ration panel to assign an independent copy of a ration template. This sets the animal’s active feeding plan; log the feed actually given and deduct barn stock separately in Daily ration feeding. Check the ear tag, feed items, and species match first—tapping a template assigns it right away.

  1. Identify the animal and current plan

Open the animal’s card and go to its ration panel. Confirm the ear tag, business, and herd before changing the plan. Check Active ration to see the current feed items and amounts. An animal’s individual ration overrides the herd default, so always check the animal’s own panel rather than relying on the herd overview.

  2. Review the template before selecting it

Tap Select ration to view active templates for that business and herd. The app checks that the template matches the animal’s species and status. Review the template details before tapping, since selection assigns the ration immediately. Keep the animal’s true species record intact and pick a template built for that livestock type.

  3. Tap the intended template once

Choose the template you reviewed. The app assigns an independent copy to this animal, so update the animal’s plan separately whenever you change the source template. Wait for the picker to close and check the assignment result. If an error appears, review the active plan before trying again so you can see whether the change went through.

  4. Verify the animal’s active contents and history

Check feed names and per-animal amounts in Active ration. Amounts below 1 kg appear in grams: 100 g = 0.1 kg. Check the latest entry in Ration assignment history. Record later purchases in their own form and actual feeding through daily application, which takes kilograms. Weigh each feed using the listed daily amount per animal to prepare that animal’s portion.

Template updates and individual plans stay separate

The source template and the animal’s assigned copy are separate records, so check the animal’s plan after editing a template. Only eligible active animals can receive a ration—check the animal’s status before assigning one. If you opened a sold or archived record, return to the active animal list and choose the eligible active animal you are feeding. Check the assigned plan against the animal’s current weight and production needs, then record the actual amount fed through daily application.
