Find animals fast with herd-list search and filters
Use Search animals and the filter buttons to narrow down your herd list without changing any animal records. Search matches ear-tag numbers, while species, status and quick filters work together. If an animal doesn’t show up, clear your active filters and search by its ear tag again.
Start with an ear-tag search
Open your herd list and type the full ear tag—or the digits you know—into Search animals. Extra spaces at the start or end are ignored, and search checks ear-tag numbers rather than animal notes or breeds. Double-check easy-to-confuse letters and numbers when reading from paper lists. Clear the search box whenever you want to see the whole herd again.
Check species and status filters
Pick a species or All species, and choose a status or All statuses. These work together with your ear-tag search. For example, a sold animal won’t appear while the list is filtered to active animals—switch to All statuses to view it instead of editing the animal’s record. Matching animals still appear under their own herds so you can see where they belong.
Use quick filters for daily barn checks
Without photo shows animals missing a main profile photo (even if photos are attached to past health or breeding events). Under 1 year requires a saved birth date on the animal’s card. Pregnant shows animals marked pregnant in their feeding and nutrition details. Vaccine due shows animals with vaccination dates that need attention in the app’s schedule. Under treatment shows animals with an open treatment reminder, and Temporary tag filters for animals still carrying a temporary tag.
Clear filters before assuming a record is missing
If an animal is missing from the list, turn off any quick filters, clear Search animals, and set both All species and All statuses. Turn on Include archived if the animal may have been archived earlier. Always open the animal’s card to confirm its tag before making updates. Filtering only changes what you see on screen—it never edits, archives or deletes your records.
Keep birth and pregnancy details up to date
When you turn on more than one filter, only animals matching every selected filter are shown. Animals without a recorded birth date won’t appear under Under 1 year, and animals not marked pregnant in their feeding details won’t appear under Pregnant. If an animal is missing from those views, check its card against your barn book and fill in any missing birth or pregnancy details.
