Create a ration template for the selected herd

Build a named ration template using your farm feeds and the daily kilograms fed per animal. Check the business, herd, and animal species before saving. When you create a herd ration as the business owner, it is automatically assigned as that herd’s active plan. Saving a template sets the plan; record daily feeding separately to deduct feed from stock.

  1. Choose the business and one herd

On the ration screen, select the Business and a single Herd, then tap New Ration. Selecting a specific herd rather than all herds unlocks template creation. Check that the species matches the animals in that herd, and enter a clear Ration name so you can easily tell this plan apart from earlier rations.

  2. Enter a recognised feed and its amount

Select an active farm feed or matching catalogue entry in Feed name. Enter one animal’s daily as-fed amount in kilograms in Fed kg per animal. For example, 100 g = 0.1 kg. The saved ration card shows amounts below 1 kg in grams. Keep whole-herd totals and dry-matter amounts separate.

  3. Build and review the component list

Tap Add feed after each item and check the ingredient list. Adding the same feed twice combines the amounts into a single line, so verify the total kg per animal. Business owners can also enter the feed price and Initial stock kg right in the form. Use Initial stock kg only for new stock on hand that you have not entered yet, as saving a positive amount records a feed purchase.

  4. Save and verify the template and assignment

Check the amounts, species, and target herd, then tap Save. Any feed typed into the last row is included automatically on save even if you did not tap Add feed first. For business owners, saving a herd ration assigns it as the herd’s active plan right away. Use the daily feeding form whenever you are ready to log actual consumption and deduct stock.

Track ration cost and feed stock accurately

Enter each feed’s price per kilogram to track ration cost. The card shows cost when prices are complete; fill missing prices in Feed List and save the same ration again. Record real stock arrivals once and use daily application for actual feeding. Divide the sack’s purchase cost by its actual kilograms to find the unit price, and check the whole-herd quantity separately.
