Record an animal sale and the amount collected

Use Live Sale on the correct active animal when a sale has actually occurred. This changes the animal to sold, adds a sale event, cancels open lifecycle reminders and changes the ration membership context. It also records the sale’s collection state. Check all sale details before saving; use Revert Status for eligible changes such as lost or dead status, and ask support about correcting a saved sale.

  1. Open the correct animal’s sale form

Compare the animal’s ear tag, business and current state with your sale document before choosing Live Sale. Only an active, unarchived animal can be sold in this flow. Do not use Archive or a lost/dead status as a substitute. If you only need to correct identity details, use the edit guide instead of starting a sale.

  2. Enter the agreed sale facts

Enter the actual date, buyer details and Sale amount. Enter the agreed total directly in Sale amount. Keep optional live weight and kilogram price as supporting details and check the total against your sale document. A future sale date is rejected, as is a date before a known birth or purchase. When entering a sale date, choose a payment follow-up on that date or later.

  3. Check the payment status deliberately

The form starts at Paid, which records the full sale total as collected. Use Partial with a Paid amount greater than zero but less than the total, or Receivable with a blank or zero paid amount when nothing was collected. Check the currency associated with the animal’s business. Do not treat an agreement or expected transfer as money already received.

  4. Save once and review all consequences

Add an optional document or note if useful and wait for image selection to finish. Set Payment due date if needed for an outstanding balance. Choose Save once, then verify the sold state, sale event, collected income and any receivable. Review tasks previously relying on lifecycle reminders and reassess affected rations; the prior active membership is no longer valid.

Handle collections and corrections carefully

Record later payments directly on that sale’s open receivable card. Do not add a second animal or another sale to make a correction. Use Revert Status only for eligible non-archived animals marked Lost, Death or Slaughter. Restoring a backup replaces all local records on the phone, so keep a separate copy of your current records before choosing a restore. Preserve your documents and ask support for the specific supported correction when a sale was entered incorrectly. Keep the saved sale with its payment receipt and official documents for a complete transaction history.
