Record a feed withdrawal from stock
Use the consumption entry to record a real feed withdrawal from a business’s stock. Check the feed identity, amount and unit before saving. Use this stock movement alongside separate records of feed offered to the animals and feed left in the trough. Avoid recording the same feed twice when it has already been deducted through a daily ration application.
Check the business and previous movements
Open Finance for the relevant business and review whether the withdrawal was already recorded. If a daily ration application already deducted the same feed, do not enter it again as a second consumption. Compare the date and movement history with your feeding notes before opening a new form, especially after an uncertain save result.
Choose consumption rather than purchase
Select Feed Consumption and confirm the displayed form. Fill Feed name consistently with the stock you intend to reduce. Check the feed’s business as well as its name to find the intended stock balance. Do not use the purchase form with a negative number to simulate consumption; use the dedicated operation and its validation.
Enter the amount and unit
Fill Quantity with the real positive amount and select the intended unit. Check whether your source note describes kilograms, tonnes or a count of sacks, bales or pieces. Count-unit consumption relies on the latest matching purchase weight for that feed and unit. If actual units differ, investigate the weight basis before saving rather than assuming an old weight remains appropriate.
Save once and verify the reduction
Select Save and check the resulting movement and kilogram balance. If stock is insufficient, review missing deliveries, unit weights and the requested quantity without inventing new stock. After a justified correction, retry only when you have checked the previous result. Keep the source notes so a colleague can reproduce the change in the balance.
Does a withdrawal prove animal intake?
No. Feed removed from a store may be offered to a group, wasted or left uneaten. Keep offered and consumed quantities distinct in your farm records. Use stock movements to follow quantities, and review energy, protein and minerals in the feeding plan separately.
How do I respond to a mismatch?
Compare the stock history with the physical store and check the unit basis first. Preserve original invoices and note the reason for any real stock corrections. Fix unit or entry mistakes in the records rather than reducing animal feeding amounts just to make stock figures match. Back up the app after important record work.
