Record milk production for one animal
Record the measured milk quantity for an individual active female, using Milk Production rather than Milk Sale. Keep milk production measurements, milk sales and received payments in their respective records. Check the animal and measured volume before saving; this form records the time when you enter the measurement.
Choose the business and production action
Open Finance and check the business selector before choosing Milk Production. Have the measured quantity and animal identity available. Do not put a whole-herd total against one animal simply because it is the only option shown. Identify the animal from the original milking notes before entering its individual production quantity.
Select the individual female
Use Active animals to choose the intended ear tag. Only active, unarchived females in the selected business are eligible. When exactly one is eligible, it may already be selected; still check it deliberately. If the animal is absent, check its actual business, sex and lifecycle state rather than changing those facts just to reveal it.
Enter the measured liters
In Liters, enter the measured quantity using the separators accepted for the app language. The amount must be positive. Use this form for the measurement you are recording now; the entry uses the current time. Keep the original dated farm sheet alongside historical measurements so you can compare the amount and the day it was measured.
Save once and compare the result
Choose Save once. If the app asks you to review an unusual number, compare the units and decimal separator with your measurement before confirming. After saving, compare the business production summary with the previous total plus your entered liters; retain the animal-specific milking note separately. Follow production quantities, sales and received payments in their separate records for a clear daily account.
Keep production and sales separate
Use Milk Sale when a sale actually occurred, even if the liters happen to match a production measurement. Do not create a general income entry merely because you recorded milk production. If a save warning makes the outcome uncertain, inspect existing records before trying again to avoid doubling a quantity. Keep your original measurement notes until the stored result has been checked, then follow your normal backup routine.
