Set quiet hours for local reminders

Choose when local reminder alerts should be quiet, then save and inspect the displayed interval. Quiet hours are part of the app’s local notification preferences. Check your existing reminders and Android notification permission separately after setting the interval. Use Calendar to review the actual work due even when you deliberately keep the phone quiet.

  1. Inspect the existing preference

Open Profile and find Quiet hours. Read the existing summary before changing the switch or hours. Check whether the feature is enabled. Keep the current values in a note if you are diagnosing a missed alert, so you can explain the original state rather than changing several settings without a record.

  2. Choose the intended interval

Enter different whole hours in Start hour and End hour, using the supported 0–23 range. Decide which part of your farm routine should be quiet. Do not enter minutes or a value such as 24. If the form reports invalid hours, correct the interval before relying on the preference for future alerts.

  3. Save and check the summary

Select Save quiet hours and wait for saving to finish. If a save warning appears, note the hours you entered and follow the save-failure troubleshooting steps first. Once the problem is resolved and saving completes successfully, reopen the setting and compare the displayed hours. Check the enable switch too. If the interval differs from what you expected, keep both the earlier and new hours in your notes when contacting support. Meanwhile, follow important jobs in Calendar and your farm work list.

  4. Test permission and timing separately

Use Notification Settings to review Android’s permission for HerdMobile, then use a non-critical test reminder to check the actual alert behaviour. Review the reminder’s date in Calendar as well. A correct quiet-hours summary, a valid future reminder and permission for system alerts are separate checks. Keep time-sensitive animal care under your normal observation and veterinary plan.

Why is a reminder visible but silent?

An in-app entry can remain visible when system notifications are off or the phone is intentionally quiet. Android sound, do-not-disturb and app-specific battery behaviour can also affect what you notice. Check the saved reminder in Calendar, quiet hours and Android notification permission together when testing phone alerts.

What is a safe first test?

Choose a routine, non-urgent task and record what happened. Confirm both the entry and the system result, noting the configured quiet interval. Do not use an urgent health action as the first test of changed notification settings. If alerts remain absent, retain the app and Android versions and the checks you completed when asking for support.
