Get started with HerdMobile
Create your profile, then add your first farm, herd and animal. HerdMobile keeps your records on your Android phone, ready to use even without internet. Before entering a whole herd, check the first saved animal and create a backup file you can find outside the app.
Install the official app
Open the Google Play listing linked below and check the package com.surucep.mobile. Install or update through Play. Use the internet to download the app from Play, then keep your everyday farm records offline on the phone. Keep the old phone if you are moving existing records.
Create the owner profile
On Owner setup, enter your name and review the terms and privacy notice. Make the required advertising personalization choice after reading its explanation. Select Create Profile. This creates your profile on the phone; make a backup ZIP when you want to keep a separate copy of the records.
Record the first animal
When the herd list is empty, select Add Business. Enter Business name, Herd name and Ear tag number. These identify the first business, herd and animal together. Check Species and Sex, then select Save. For another animal in that herd, use Add Animal and check the prefilled business and herd.
Check what was saved
Return to the herd list and open the saved animal. Compare the ear tag against the physical tag and the herd against your paper records. Correct a mistake before adding more animals. Add a photo for quick recognition and keep the ear tag as the animal’s main identifier. Do not enter an invented birth date just to fill an optional field.
Start a backup habit
Open the profile backup section and select Create Backup File. Complete the Android save or share action and verify the resulting ZIP exists in a location you control. Keep a second copy outside this phone. Make a fresh backup after important work and before changing devices or restoring another file.
What should I prepare?
Have the ear tags, a useful business name and herd grouping ready. Start with one animal you can identify confidently. If an existing backup is your starting point, follow the restore guide instead of retyping the herd. Restoring replaces the destination’s local records with the selected backup; save any existing records separately before starting.
What is the first-day check?
Close and reopen the animal record, confirm its identity, then check that your backup file is accessible. Use the backup reminder as your cue to create the ZIP and save a copy outside the phone. Store any backup PIN securely and separately from the file. Keep dated health observations and your veterinarian’s instructions together in the animal’s history.
