Record today’s ration and deduct actual feed stock

Use Feed today to log the day’s feeding for your selected business and herd. The form pulls planned totals from your active ration assignments. Check the actual kilograms fed before saving to record consumption and deduct feed stock in one step. Assign templates first, then use Daily ration feeding to log what went into the bunk.

  1. Check the scope and existing daily history

In the ration overview, verify Business and Herd before choosing Feed today. An all-herds selection covers a different scope from one herd. Check Ration History for an existing application today. Overlapping applications for the same business and day are rejected, including an all-herds posting that overlaps a herd-specific one. Use this action for today’s feeding and keep earlier days’ farm notes with their original dates.

  2. Review active animals and stock readiness

Feed today unlocks when a ration preview is ready, at least one active ration group is assigned, and you have enough feed in stock to cover the plan. If the button is unavailable, check your active ration assignments and update your real inventory by recording any real delivery that is missing. Confirm the selected herd and active animals so the preview matches the group you are feeding.

  3. Compare actual amounts with planned totals

In Daily ration feeding, the planned amount shows the total for the whole selected herd or business scope, not per animal. Planned totals under 1 kg display in grams, while the actual kg input fields always take kilograms (100 g = 0.1 kg). Enter the positive as-fed weight actually given, keeping dry matter figures separate. If a feed amount is locked, recalculate the ration template to change its target amount.

  4. Save once and verify the stock movement

Tap Save and confirm any high-or-low weight prompt against your scale notes. The app verifies available inventory and blocks the entry if stock falls short. Once saved, check Ration History and your updated feed balances. Because Daily ration feeding already deducts inventory, log each feeding here once rather than adding a separate stock-consumption entry. If a saving warning leaves the result unclear, check history before trying again.

Compare the plan and actual feeding

Record what actually happened and keep the source feeding notes. Correct genuine inventory errors through the stock forms and check any planned feeding change against the group’s current animal details and feed analysis before adjusting quantities. Use this page to record stock movements and feeding history, and compare the recorded amounts with feed offered and leftovers on the farm.
