Record a reproduction event for a female animal

Record a reproduction event that actually happened on the correct female animal with its date and notes so her breeding history stays easy to check. Use confirmed service and pregnancy records when scheduling future checks, and keep veterinary pregnancy findings separate from your own heat or mating observations. Verify any uncertain dates or details against the original breeding records before saving.

  1. Check the animal and existing record

Before choosing Add Event, compare the animal’s ear tag and business with your source record. Health, treatment, parasite, reproduction and birth events require an active, unarchived animal. If this is the wrong record, close the form and find the correct animal. If an earlier attempt had an uncertain outcome, inspect its timeline before adding another event to avoid a duplicate.

  2. Check eligibility and describe the actual event

Open Add Event on an active female and choose Reproduction. This option is shown only for females; the app’s data rules also reject reproduction events for males. If the recorded sex is wrong, check the original identity record before correcting it; do not change sex merely to reveal a button. Enter a specific Title and use Note to distinguish a mating, an insemination or a professional finding without claiming more than you know.

  3. Separate event and follow-up dates

Event date initially shows today. For an earlier event, enter its actual date as YYYY-MM-DD or use the calendar. A future event date is rejected. The calendar uses a known birth date as its lower limit; check a typed date yourself too. Follow-up date is separate and optional. Enter the planned check date here and keep the date of the completed event in its own field.

  4. Save and verify the result

If attaching an optional photo, wait for selection to finish. Review the required Title and the dates, then choose Save once. Correct the cause of any warning rather than submitting unchanged values repeatedly. Inspect the animal’s timeline for the saved date, category and description. If you entered a follow-up date, check the linked reminder. Check quiet hours, Android notification permission and battery settings so the phone is ready to show reminders.

Plan checks without claiming a pregnancy

Use a follow-up date for a pregnancy check or breeding task you intend to schedule. Keep the Reproduction event and pregnancy confirmation as separate entries so each has its own date and source record. This form keeps the event and optional reminder together; retain the detailed insemination record with the animal’s documents. Check the reproduction details used for ration planning in the animal’s feeding profile as a separate step.
