Birth date cannot be in the future.

Check the animal’s birth date against your calving notes to keep its age correct.

Why does this happen?

The birth date is ahead of the phone’s local calendar date, beyond the one-day allowance for time-zone differences. This check runs when adding an animal or changing its birth date.

How do I check it?

  1. Confirm Ear tag number, then compare Birth date (YYYY-MM-DD) with the animal card or calving notebook. Correct the day, month or year using the actual birth record.

  2. If a known past date still appears ahead of today, check the phone’s date, time and time zone in Android settings. Return to the form and review the date.

  3. Choose Save, then reopen the animal and compare its ear tag and birth date with your notes.

How do I verify the result?

The saved birth date should match the animal’s actual birth record. Keep planned calving dates in reminders.

How do I keep my records safe?

Keep known dates in place. If the birth date is genuinely unknown, a blank field leaves it unset on a new animal. Clearing it in Edit Animal removes the saved birth date when you save.
