Move my records to a new phone

Take your herd records to your new phone with a backup ZIP. Keep the old phone until you have checked the move.

Why does this happen?

Your records are stored on the phone. Restore replaces the destination phone’s current records with the selected backup. Make separate backups of both phones’ existing records first.

How do I check it?

  1. On the old phone, check recent animals, feed and money records. Under Profile → Backup, choose Create Backup File and finish the export. Keep the ZIP unchanged and its original PIN if protected. Back up any records already on the new phone separately.

  2. Transfer a copy to the new phone; finish any Drive download before picking the file. Install from the official Google Play listing. Select the ZIP for restore, enter its original PIN if asked, and read Backup Preview counts and the replacement warning. Cancel if the file or destination is wrong.

  3. Choose Restore when you are ready to replace the destination records. Compare animals, recent events, feed, balances and photos with the old phone; check notification settings. Keep the old phone and original ZIP until the checks are complete.

How do I verify the result?

Compare dates, counts and individual records. Then choose one phone for future entries and start taking fresh backups there. Record any difference before entering more data.

How do I keep my records safe?

Keep both phones’ earlier backups separately. Retain the old phone until verification is complete, and make future entries on your chosen phone so your latest records stay together.
