Enter birth date as YYYY-MM-DD.
Enter the birth date in the format shown to keep the animal’s age correct.
Why does this happen?
The birth-date field contains an incomplete date or a day outside the calendar.
How do I check it?
In Animal Record or Edit Animal, check the ear tag and find Birth date (YYYY-MM-DD). Copy the date from this animal’s records.
Use a full date, such as 2025-03-08 for 8 March 2025. Complete DD.MM.YYYY and DD/MM/YYYY dates also work. Check the month’s length and February in leap years.
Tap Save, then reopen the animal and check the birth date. If another message appears about a future birth date or the order of birth and purchase dates, compare both dates with your records.
How do I verify the result?
The saved animal shows the correct birth date; any purchase date belongs in its separate field.
How do I keep my records safe?
For a new animal, leave an unknown birth date blank. When editing, keep the known date until you have its correction: saving an empty field removes the recorded birth date.
