Sale date cannot be before the birth or purchase date.
Put the sale in the right place in the animal’s history by checking its sale, birth and purchase dates together.
Why does this happen?
The sale falls before a known birth or purchase date. Each known date is checked separately; a missing date leaves the other check in place. The same day is accepted. A blank sale-date field uses the current time.
How do I check it?
Confirm the ear tag. Compare Sale date (YYYY-MM-DD) with the sale document and the animal’s birth and purchase dates, including each year.
Correct a mistyped sale date from your document. If an animal detail is wrong, leave the form and correct it in Edit Animal, then reopen the sale form and re-enter the transaction. Keep known correct dates; clearing an existing optional date removes it.
Review the buyer, Sale amount, payment status, Paid amount and Payment due date, then tap Save. This changes the animal’s status and adds its sale record.
How do I verify the result?
Open the saved sale and animal history. The sale should be on or after every known birth and purchase date. Check the ear tag, amount and any outstanding payment; inspect existing records before retrying an unclear save.
How do I keep my records safe?
Keep your source documents and correct animal-history dates. For a genuinely unknown date, follow the animal-editing guide and add it when known. Enter the actual date for an earlier sale.
