Purchase date cannot be before the birth date.

Check the birth and purchase dates together to put the animal’s history in the right order.

Why does this happen?

The purchase date is earlier than the birth date. The app compares calendar days when both dates are present, on adding an animal or changing either date. A purchase on the same day as birth is accepted.

How do I check it?

  1. Confirm Ear tag number, then compare Birth date (YYYY-MM-DD) and Purchase date (YYYY-MM-DD) with the animal card and purchase receipt.

  2. Correct whichever date differs from your records, using the format shown. Keep both actual dates, including the year.

  3. Choose Save and reopen the animal to check both dates. If you also changed Purchase price, review the related purchase expense in your farm accounts.

How do I verify the result?

When both dates are filled, purchase should fall on or after birth. Compare the saved dates with the original documents.

How do I keep my records safe?

Preserve known dates. Leave a date blank only when it is genuinely unknown. A blank field on a new animal leaves that date unset; clearing it in Edit Animal removes the saved date.
